Depends on what your goal is -- for me, it has augmented my professional growth and awareness of trends in education, and has allowed me to find forward-thinking educators to present at our events -- I get to preview how they share ideas. Twitter is probably different for everyone, though!

Wow, Eddie, was already following your personal tweets, now following your school and district -- what a great example of leveraging Web 2.0 for school communications with KidFlix/tweets. Thanks for sharing.

We have just gotten up and running on Twitter at Calisphere, the UC's free website of primary sources and lesson plans. It is at: http://www.twitter.com/calisphere.

We are having a lot of fun experimenting with this new form of communication. So far we have highlighted some of the content from our website you might not otherwise find, re-tweeted interesting thoughts on education, called attention to other primary sources out on the web, and more...

And very exciting is starting on December 1, we are going to do a week-long "tweet event" where we'll be quoting from the letters from John Muir as he encounters Yosemite for the first time. I hope this is engaging for teachers and students alike!

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas, too. :)

Hi Sherri,
Just added you to my educators-to-follow Twitter list (along with other League Learning Network "tweeple" here). Calisphere is a wonderful resource -- looking forward to your tweets! Thanks for sharing.

I'm hopeful to get my principal to allow me to change our website to a wordpress blog. I have one set up for our index page news posts (http://www.placeritajhs.org). I have a plugin installed on the blog to post an automatic tweet to the school's twitter account. We have the same setup for the KidFlix/MMTV blog (http://mmtv.placeritajhs.org).

About to jump into WordPress myself -- bought the Thesis template since I'm a newbie, nice to know someone who uses WP already in case I get stuck! Cool, keep us informed on the new blog.
